Baseball Recap: Stone Ridge Christian Comes Up Short

Stone Ridge Christian extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 19 on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 0-15 in the process. They lost 10-0 to the Gustine Reds. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Reds this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 20-2 back in March.

As for Gustine, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-5. Considering they have won 13 matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

For Gustine's part, they got a big performance out of Michael Salsa, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most hits Salsa has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Mike Saaranzin, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.

Stone Ridge Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Gustine, they will square off against Golden Sierra at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in the Reds' favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while the Grizzlies have been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
