It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Casa Grande ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 win over the Napa Grizzlies. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Gauchos have posted against the Grizzlies since April 13, 2022.

Casa Grande's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Rice, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-4.

The victory made it two in a row for Casa Grande and bumps their season record up to 8-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Napa, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-8.

Coming up, Casa Grande will head out to face off against Cardinal Newman at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Napa, they will welcome Fairfield at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Fairfield's pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so Napa's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
