Volleyball Recap: Hardin-Jefferson Takes a Loss

Hardin-Jefferson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Tarkington Longhorns. The Hawks were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Longhorns earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

Hardin-Jefferson actually scored more points across those five sets (107-97), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 25-20, 15-25, 16-25, 25-23, 16-14.

Despite the loss, Hardin-Jefferson still got an impressive performance from Cambrie Waggener, who had 13 digs, five kills, and three aces. Another player making a difference was Payton Leger, who had 19 kills, five aces, and three digs.

Hardin-Jefferson's loss dropped their record down to 28-14. As for Tarkington, their win bumped their record up to 14-28.

As of now, neither Hardin-Jefferson nor the Longhorns have any future games scheduled.
