Recap: Northern Patriots vs. Chopticon Braves

Even though the Northern Patriots have not done well against the Chopticon Braves recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Northern came out on top against Chopticon by a score of 46-35. The victory was nothing new for Northern as they're now sitting on five straight.

Mikayla Jones was her usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with seven steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Makayla Marvray, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and four steals.

Northern is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a massive bump to their 11-7 record this season. As for Chopticon, they dropped their record down to 7-12 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

Northern's road trip will continue as they head out to face Leonardtown at 6:30 p.m. on February 9th. Hopefully Northern focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Monday. As for Chopticon, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Calvert at 6:30 p.m. Chopticon is facing Calvert at the right time seeing as Calvert is stuck on a 11-game losing streak.
