Preview: Sheridan Blackhawks vs. Carroll Cougars
The Sheridan Blackhawks will be playing in front of their home fans against the Carroll Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
On Wednesday, Sheridan got the win against Southmont by a conclusive 65-45. Sheridan pushed the score to 53-32 by the end of the third, a deficit Southmont cut but never quite recovered from.
Trent Decrane and Caleb Wright were among the main playmakers for Sheridan as the former scored 14 points along with seven assists and the latter scored 15 points. Carson Wright was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Carroll suffered a tough 85-60 loss at the hands of Maconaquah on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Carroll can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 214th, while Maconaquah is ranked 81st).
Sheridan is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. As for Carroll, their loss dropped their record down to 12-6.
