Baseball Recap: Shanksville Stonycreek Has No Trouble Against Forbes Road

Shanksville Stonycreek lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Forbes Road, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's contest. The Vikings were the clear victors by an 11-3 margin over Forbes Road on Friday. This was payback for the Vikings, who suffered a 7-5 loss the last time these two teams met.

Jordan Young made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Young was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Grant Boozer was incredible, going 4-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Hunter Critchfield, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-5.

Shanksville Stonycreek was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .405. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Shanksville Stonycreek's record now sits at 2-3. As for Forbes Road, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shanksville Stonycreek will take on Turkeyfoot Valley Area at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rams will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Vikings surely won't give up without a fight. As for Forbes Road, they will square off against Hyndman Charter School at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
