Baseball Recap: Geneseo Takes a Loss

Geneseo came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Le Roy Oatkan Knights, falling 9-3. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Blue Devils of the 10-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Bryce Patterson was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. He has become a key player for Geneseo: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 2-3 otherwise.

Geneseo's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 4-4. As for Le Roy, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-1.

Geneseo is facing Mount Morris at the right time seeing as Mount Morris is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Le Roy, they have already played their next contest, a 9-2 win against Pavilion on the 29th.
