Softball Recap: Ridgewood Takes a Loss

Riverside-Brookfield hit Ridgewood with a five-run fourth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Rebels came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 13-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rebels of the 12-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Ridgewood has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for Riverside-Brookfield, they moved to 9-8 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ridgewood will square off against Maine East at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rebels are facing the Blue Demons at the right time seeing as the Blue Demons are stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Riverside-Brookfield, they will face off against West Chicago at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
