Recap: Edison Eagles vs. Bishop Kelley Comets
The Edison Eagles suffered their biggest defeat since December 15, 2023 on Saturday. Their rough 36-16 loss to Bishop Kelley might stick with them for a while. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Edison of the 34-28 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2020.
Bishop Kelley's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Allie Strandmark, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Erin Jolin, who scored four points along with ten rebounds and three steals.
Edison has been struggling recently, as they've lost nine of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season. As for Bishop Kelley, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Edison and Will Rogers College will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Bishop Kelley, they will be playing at home against Booker T. Washington at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Booker T. Washington knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Bishop Kelley likes a good challenge.
