Basketball Recap: Roosevelt Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Calvin Peterson and Obie E Esparza

It was a good run, but Roosevelt unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Wednesday. They lost 87-63 to the Washburn Millers. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Teddies this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 82-45 on January 8th.

Despite the loss, Roosevelt had strong showings from Obie E Esparza, who went 7 of 15 on his way to 18 points in addition to five assists and five rebounds, and Calvin Peterson, who went 9 for 17 en route to 23 points and four steals. Those five assists gave E Esparza a new career-high.

Roosevelt's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Washburn, their victory bumped their record up to 10-8.
