Baseball Recap: Centerville Takes a Loss

Centerville fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Rushville on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 7-4 to the Lions. The Bulldogs were not able to make up for their defeat to the Lions from their previous meeting back in April of 2025.

Centerville saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Alford, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI. That stolen base was Alford's first of the season. Another was Landen Schlotterbeck, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

This is the second loss in a row for Centerville and nudges their season record down to 1-3. As for Rushville, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Centerville will take on Tri at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rushville, they will venture away from home to face off against Greensburg at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
