Baseball Recap: Silver Comes Up Short

Silver lost to Chaparral back in May of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Slvr Ftg Colts fell just short of the Lobos by a score of 8-7.

Danian Flores and Urijah Arrey were huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, Flores struck out six batters over 3.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Arrey tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (zero). At the plate, Flores got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one RBI, while Arrey went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Silver is 3-1 when Arrey posts two or more stolen bases, but 6-13 otherwise.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Victor Roman, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Silver's defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-14. As for Chaparral, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-15.

While Silver had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
