Baseball Recap: Shadow Creek Drops Season-High Score on South Houston

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Shadow Creek). They blew past the South Houston Trojans 19-3 on Tuesday. The Sharks not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 28, 2024 (when they won 18-1).

Nolan Wheeler spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on six hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Dylan Thane was a standout: he went 4-for-5 with four stolen bases, four runs, and three doubles. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of John Oliverio, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.

Shadow Creek always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Shadow Creek is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-11 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for South Houston, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-20.

Shadow Creek will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Trojans: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
