Soccer Recap: St. John Paul II Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

St. John Paul II and St. Johns Country Day squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but St. John Paul II had to settle for second. They came up short against the St. Johns Country Day Spartans, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 343rd, while the Spartans are ranked 14th).

This is the second loss in a row for St. John Paul II and nudges their season record down to 9-9. As for St. Johns Country Day, they pushed their record up to 16-3-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home.

St. John Paul II does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for St. Johns Country Day, they will take on Christ's Church Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Johns Country Day will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more goals each matchup than the last.
