The Chesapeake Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the South Point Pointers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Chesapeake is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last nine games.

Chesapeake won the last time they faced Dawson-Bryant and Bre Scarberry did her part to make sure it happened again. The Panthers blew past the Hornets 3-0 on Tuesday thanks in part to Scarberry, who had ten digs and three assists. She has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last three times she's played.
One reason for the win was Chesapeake's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-18, 25-14.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for South Point, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They put the hurt on Ironton with a sharp 3-0 win on Tuesday.
South Point never let Ironton on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-14, 26-24.
South Point's victory bumped their record up to 12-6. As for Chesapeake, their win bumped their record up to 16-3.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's contest: Chesapeake has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 10.2 aces per game. However, it's not like South Point struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.9 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Chesapeake beat South Point 3-1 in their previous matchup back in September. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
