Basketball Game Preview: Jenkins Warriors vs. Islands Sharks

Jenkins has gone 8-2 against Islands recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Jenkins Warriors will venture away from home to square off against the Islands Sharks at 6:30 p.m.

Last Monday, Jenkins came up short against Heritage and fell 60-53.

Despite their loss, Jenkins saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Dominique Johnson, who posted eight points in addition to six rebounds and five steals, was perhaps the best of all. Johnson has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jordon Massey, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards.

Meanwhile, Islands hadn't done well against Johnson recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way last Friday. Islands skirted past Johnson 53-50. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Sharks.

Jenkins has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season. As for Islands, their victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 6-12.

Jenkins strolled past Islands in their previous matchup on January 7th by a score of 76-57. The rematch might be a little tougher for Jenkins since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
