Volleyball Game Preview: Weber Warriors vs. Layton Lancers

Weber is a perfect 4-0 against Layton since April of 2024 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Warriors will host the Lancers at 5:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Tuesday, Weber came up short against Syracuse and fell 3-1. The Warriors haven't had much luck with the Titans recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Weber started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-23, 25-23, 25-21.

Meanwhile, Layton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Fremont. While the Lancers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Silverwolves 25-17 in the first set.

Layton actually scored more points across those five sets (104-103), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 17-25, 25-21, 21-25, 25-23, 15-10.

Layton's defeat dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Weber, their loss dropped their record down to 9-11.

Weber beat Layton 3-1 in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lancers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
