Alexander Central and Freedom are an even 4-4 against one another since October of 2017, but not for long. The Cougars will take on the Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Alexander Central has given up an average of 34.8 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Alexander Central came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Watauga, falling 42-20. The defeat continues a trend for the Cougars in their meetings with the Pioneers: they've now lost eight in a row.

Despite their loss, Alexander Central saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Jeremiah Whitaker, who rushed for 49 yards and one TD, was perhaps the best of all. Jaheim Redmond was in the mix as well, providing the Cougars with two touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Freedom got the win against South Caldwell on Friday by a conclusive 56-35. The Patriots haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Freedom's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Alexander Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.

Alexander Central was able to grind out a solid victory over Freedom in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, winning 30-20. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Patriots have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
