Softball Recap: West Nassau Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact West Nassau can now relate to. They fell just short of the Suwannee Bulldogs by a score of 1-0 on Friday. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Not much got past Kelsea Bass, who gave up just four hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Suwannee off the board. Bass has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

West Nassau has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-12 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Suwannee, they now have a winning record of 12-11.

West Nassau does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Suwannee, they will challenge Paxon School For Advanced Studies at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Golden Eagles have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season.
