The Hillcrest Knights are on the road again on Tuesday to play Tournament Team at 10:00 a.m.
Hillcrest was handed a six-point loss in their previous outing, but they didn't let that bad energy affect their game against Tournament Team on Monday. Hillcrest sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 win over Tournament Team. The victory was just what Hillcrest needed coming off of a 7-1 defeat in their prior match.
Brayden Nickels was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching an inning while giving up no earned runs or hits (he also didn't allow any walks). Nickels was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with a triple and a run.
In other batting news, Thomas Smith was solid, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.
Hillcrest now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Tournament Team, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.
