Muhlenberg hasn't had much luck against Twin Valley recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Muhls will challenge the Raiders at 4:00 p.m. Muhlenberg has given up an average of 11.4 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Muhlenberg lost 14-4 to Fleetwood on Wednesday. The Muhls have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Muhlenberg saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madison Wentzel, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Kaylee Jablonski was another, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, Twin Valley came tearing into Friday's matchup with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Mustangs get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Raiders, who have now won five contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Erin Cromwell was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Julia Schrekengast also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.
Twin Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .370 or higher in four consecutive games.
Twin Valley pushed their record up to 9-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Muhlenberg, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.
Monday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Muhlenberg hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .346. However, it's not like Twin Valley struggles in that department as they've averaged .355. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Muhlenberg might still be hurting after the 12-0 defeat they got from Twin Valley in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Muhls avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
