Basketball Recap: Leflore Takes a Loss

If Leflore was feeling good fresh off their 50-6 takedown of Bokoshe last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Leflore Savages came up short against the Poteau Pirates on Wednesday, falling 38-16. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Savages of the 43-38 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2022.

Leflore dropped their record down to 4-16 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Poteau, their win ended an 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-14.

Leflore will take on Whitesboro at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Poteau, they will head out on the road to square off against Stilwell at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Poteau is facing Stilwell at the right time seeing as Stilwell is stuck on a 13-game losing streak.
