The Palmdale Academy Charter School Jaguars will head out to face off against the Santa Clarita Christian Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Palmdale Academy Charter School knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Santa Clarita Christian likes a good challenge.
On Thursday, Palmdale Academy Charter School needed a bit of extra time to put away Lucerne Valley. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 10-8 win over the Mustangs.
Derek Martinez tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 11 over 7.1 innings pitched. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Palmdale Academy Charter School is 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 0-9 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Isaac Torres was incredible, firing off three triples, three stolen bases, and three RBI while going 5-for-5. He has become a key player for Palmdale Academy Charter School: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three RBI, but 0-10 otherwise. Alessio Ruiz was another key player, getting on base in five of his six plate appearances with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.
Palmdale Academy Charter School kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Santa Clarita Christian faced off against Milken last Wednesday. The Cardinals fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 3-2. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Cardinals couldn't push the score so high this time.
Jacob Trsosper put in work no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Trsosper wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Gregory Michlin, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Michlin is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Cayden Rappleye also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Palmdale Academy Charter School pushed their record up to 3-10 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.0 runs over those games. As for Santa Clarita Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.
Both Palmdale Academy Charter School and Santa Clarita Christian just can't seem to miss. The Jaguars have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9 hits per game. However, it's not like Santa Clarita Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.2 hits.
