After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Tipton-Rosemark Academy, Houston was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Collierville Dragons 3-2. The victory was some much needed relief for the Mustangs as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.
Madeleine McClure spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits and racked up eight Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Lindsey Barnes, who went 1-for-4 with one home run. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Kaylea Howell was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.
