Truckee is 8-2 against Elko since September of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Wolverines will square off against the Indians at 7:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Truckee sitting on five straight victories and Elko on three.

Truckee is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They won a game that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by Spring Creek 22-21. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wolverines have posted against the Spartans since October 19, 2019.

It was another big night for Sam Kuntz, who rushed for 108 yards, and also picked up 43 receiving yards and one TD.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Truckee was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 254 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 254 rushing yards in eight consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Elko faced Spring Creek in a battle between two of the state's top teams two weeks ago. The Indians walked away with a 28-20 victory over the Spartans.

The match pitted two dominant signal callers against one another in Ethan Kraintz and McCoy McArtor. Kraintz had a great game and rushed for 139 yards and one score on only 14 carries. Meanwhile, McArtor was balling out in the loss, rushing for 131 yards and one touchdown, while also throwing for 13 yards and one TD.

Truckee's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Elko, their victory bumped their record up to 8-1.

Truckee didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Elko when the teams last played back in October, but they still walked away with a 20-14 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolverines since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
