Volleyball Recap: West Platte Comes Up Short

West Platte lost against Mid-Buchanan back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Bluejays came up short against the Dragons, falling 3-0. The Bluejays have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

West Platte was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Mid-Buchanan work for it, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-15, 25-21.

Blair Mchenry paced West Platte's offense, picking up nine kills. Mchenry got some help from Amber Rutherford and her 19 assists. Rutherford was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

West Platte's defeat dropped their record down to 16-13-2. As for Mid-Buchanan, they pushed their record up to 17-10-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, West Platte will square off against University Academy Charter at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Mid-Buchanan, they will challenge Lawson at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
