Preview: Saginaw Arts & Sciences Academy Dragons vs. Vassar Vulcans

Saginaw Arts & Sciences Academy is 0-4 against Vassar since January of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Saginaw Arts & Sciences Academy Dragons will head out on the road to face off against the Vassar Vulcans at 7:30 p.m. Saginaw Arts & Sciences Academy will be strutting in after a victory while Vassar will be coming in after a defeat.

Last Wednesday, Saginaw Arts & Sciences Academy earned a 29-20 win over Heston Academy.

Vassar suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Wednesday. They were dealt a 65-24 defeat at the hands of Laker. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Vassar in their matchups with Laker: they've now lost eight in a row.

Vassar's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Bryce Brown, who scored six points along with two blocks, and Austin Long who scored seven points.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Vassar struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They are winless (0-3) when they can't control their own glass like that.

Saginaw Arts & Sciences Academy's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.5 points per game. As for Vassar, their loss dropped their record down to 1-10.

Saginaw Arts & Sciences Academy lost to Vassar on the road by a decisive 52-33 margin in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Can Saginaw Arts & Sciences Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
