Recap: Kermit Yellow Jackets vs. Presidio Blue Devils
The Kermit Yellow Jackets lost against the Presidio Blue Devils back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Kermit fell 61-49 to Presidio. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Kermit in their matchups with Presidio: they've now lost four in a row.
Kermit's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Diego Juarez, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Juarez also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Zeke Espino, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds.
Kermit has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-11 record this season. As for Presidio, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-4.
Kermit will be playing in front of their home fans against Compass Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Compass Academy is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for Presidio, they will head out on the road to challenge Alpine at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Alpine has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 337 points over their last five contests.
