The Dexter Bearcats will venture away from home to take on the Farmington Knights at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Dexter is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season.
Dexter will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Monday, then bounced right back against Oak Ridge on Tuesday. The Bearcats were the clear victors by a 15-1 margin over the Blue Jays. The result was nothing new for the Bearcats, who have now won eight matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Trey Pedigo made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one RBI.
In other batting news, Dexter got a massive performance out of Justus Lovelady, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs and two stolen bases. Lovelady is becoming a predictor of the Bearcats' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 7-8 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Beau Carrier, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
Dexter always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Oak Ridge only posted an OBP of .276.
Meanwhile, Farmington narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past North County 4-2. The victory continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Raiders: they've now won four in a row.
Like Dexter, Farmington also got a great game from a two-way player: Cooper Tripp. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Tripp has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, earning one run and three stolen bases.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jackson McDowell, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Dexter's record is now 16-8. As for Farmington, their record now sits at 17-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Dexter has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Farmington struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Dexter might still be hurting after the 9-1 defeat they got from Farmington in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Bearcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
