Flag Football Game Preview: Miramonte Matadors vs. Acalanes Dons

The Miramonte Matadors will challenge the Acalanes Dons at 7:45 p.m. on Monday. The timing isn't great for Miramonte: they have been struggling with four straight losses at home dating back to last season, while Acalanes has snatched up six consecutive wins on the road.

On Tuesday, Miramonte was beaten by College Park 47-13. While losing is never fun, the Matadors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California flag football rankings (they are ranked 587th, while the Falcons are ranked 149th).

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Acalanes' offense. They took a hard 14-0 fall against Clayton Valley Charter on Wednesday. The Dons have struggled against the Ugly Eagles recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Having lost for the first time this season, Acalanes fell to 11-1. As for Miramonte, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.

Miramonte might still be hurting after the 33-7 defeat they got from Acalanes in their previous meeting back in September of 2023. Can the Matadors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
