Volleyball Recap: Notre Dame Falls Despite Big Games from Addison Kitchings and Callie Mccormick

Notre Dame lost against Musselman back in September of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Fighting Irish took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Applemen.

Callie McCormick and Addison Kitchings certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. McCormick had 13 digs and two aces, while Kitchings had eight digs and four assists.

Musselman's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Alycia Miller led the charge by getting 21 digs. Miller is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last seven games she's played. Another player making a difference was Gracie Ganse, who had seven digs and two aces.

Notre Dame's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Musselman, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 15-4.

Notre Dame wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Elizabethton on the 13th. As for Musselman, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-1 defeat against Spring Mills on the 13th.
