Basketball Recap: Woodlawn Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Sophia Skinner and Andrea Kibler

Woodlawn lost against Sesser-Valier/Waltonville back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Woodlawn Cardinals took a 47-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sesser-Valier/Waltonville Red Devils.

Despite the loss, Woodlawn had strong showings from Andrea Kibler, who almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine boards, and Sophia Skinner, who posted 12 points. The dominant performance gave Kibler a new career-high in rebounds.

Woodlawn's defeat dropped their record down to 17-9. As for Sesser-Valier/Waltonville, they pushed their record up to 21-5 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Coming up, Woodlawn will head out to challenge Carmi-White County at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Sesser-Valier/Waltonville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against DuQuoin at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
