            It was a proper cat-fight when  Douglas duked it out withSpanish Springs on Friday. The Douglas Tigers were beaten by the Spanish Springs Cougars 66-38. The  loss   continues a  trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now lost four in a row.

 Douglas' loss  came despite strong showings from  Hailee Koontz and  Ashlyn Greenfield.  Koontz  posted six  points and 11  rebounds, while  Greenfield  put up seven points along with six  boards and three  steals. Koontz is  on a roll when it comes to  boards, as she's  now  pulled down eight or more in the last 14 games she's  played.
 Spanish Springs was led to victory by  Aaliyah Vance and  Reese Wakefield.  Vance  earned 19  points and six  steals, while  Wakefield  went 6 for 13  on her way to 16 points. That's the most  points  Wakefield has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was  Brooklyn Doyle, who  went 5 of 7  en route to 10 points in addition to six  rebounds and three  steals.
Douglas' defeat dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Spanish Springs, they have  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won 11 of their last 12 matchups,  which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record  this season.
 Douglas will head out to  face off against Damonte Ranch  at 5:15  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Spanish Springs, they will welcome McQueen  at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. McQueen has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the  contest with 12 straight  losses, while Spanish Springs will come in with four straight  victories.
