Lake City hadn't done well against Marion recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Lake City Panthers slipped by the Marion Swamp Foxes 50-49. The victory was nothing new for the Panthers as they're now sitting on eight straight.

Lake City got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Hannah Riles out in front who posted 16 points. Riles has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played. Na'Shira Starks was another key player, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 12 boards.

Marion's loss came despite strong showings from Jaeda Davis and Maliyah Williams. Davis went 7 of 16 en route to 19 points along with six assists and four steals, while Williams went 6 for 12 on her way to 14 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. That was a full 38.8% of Marion's points, marking the ninth time in a row she's scored more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sheteira Bethea, who had three points and 17 boards.

Lake City's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-4. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.5 points per game. As for Marion, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-7.

Lake City has already played their next game (against Lee Central), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Marion didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 39-35 win against Kingstree on the 5th.
