Volleyball Game Preview: Hiwassee Dam Eagles vs. Summit Charter Bears

The Hiwassee Dam Eagles are taking a road trip to take on the Summit Charter Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Summit Charter took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Hiwassee Dam, who comes in off a win.

Hiwassee Dam will bounce into Tuesday's contest after beating Fannin County, who they had gone 1-7 against in their eight prior meetings. The Eagles won by a set and slipped past the Rebels 3-2.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (105-94) Hiwassee Dam actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 26-24, 25-19, 8-25, 15-12.

Meanwhile, Summit Charter came up short against Highlands on Thursday and fell 3-1. The Bears haven't had much luck with the Highlanders recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

While Summit Charter ultimately came up short, they really made Highlands work, particularly in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 26-28, 27-25, 25-20.

Hiwassee Dam's win ended a three-match drought at home and bumped them up to 4-14. As for Summit Charter, their loss dropped their record down to 3-11.

Hiwassee Dam was able to grind out a solid victory over Summit Charter in their previous meeting on September 11th, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
