Baseball Recap: Three Rivers Comes Up Short

Three Rivers's last matchup with Kalamazoo Central could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Wednesday. The Wildcats came up short against the Maroon Giants, falling 13-6. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Maroon Giants this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-2 on Wednesday.

Jace Gray and Wyatt Ferriby did some serious damage despite the final result: Gray went 1-for-3 with two runs and one double, while Ferriby went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Gabe Young, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Three Rivers has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 19-13 record this season. As for Kalamazoo Central, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-21.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Three Rivers will head out to face off against Vicksburg at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Kalamazoo Central, they will venture away from home to take on Portage Northern at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
