Baseball Recap: Delta Comes Up Short

Delta fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Patrick Henry on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 5-4. The defeat continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Patriots: they've now lost three in a row.

Delta saw nine different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carlos DeSantos, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Delta's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Patrick Henry, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3-1 record this season.

Delta will take on Hilltop at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cadets have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season. As for Patrick Henry, they will face off against Leipsic at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
