Recap: Liberty Chargers vs. Varsity Opponent
The Liberty Chargers can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They came out on top against Varsity Opponent by a score of 66-58. The win was just what Liberty needed coming off of a 50-22 loss in their prior matchup.
Liberty's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Genola Thermozier, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Lamar Lee, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Liberty's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-12. As for Varsity Opponent, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost 42 of their last 49 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 277-1056-2 record this season.
Liberty will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Celebration at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th. As for Varsity Opponent, they will head out on the road to face off against Horizon Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
