Basketball Game Preview: Boone Central Cardinals vs. Ponca Indians

The Boone Central Cardinals will head out to take on the Ponca Indians at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Boone Central is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Battle Creek just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 42-34 to the Braves. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 101st, while the Braves are ranked 24th).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Ponca, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They took down Wynot 45-30 on Thursday.

Boone Central now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Ponca, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-10.

Boone Central came up short against Ponca in their previous meeting two weeks ago, falling 46-37. Can Boone Central avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
