Baseball Recap: Andrew Jackson Academy Triumphs

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Andrew Jackson Academy had no problem doing just that on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Carolina Academy Bobcats 11-10.

Hayden McClung was incredible, going 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and one triple. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Jack Walling, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Andrew Jackson Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Andrew Jackson Academy's victory bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Carolina Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Andrew Jackson Academy will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bobcats: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
