Softball Recap: Marysville Getchell's Win Ends Five-Game Losing Streak at Home

Marysville Getchell took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Glacier Peak, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Marysville Getchell had just enough and edged out Glacier Peak 5-4 on Wednesday. This was payback for Marysville Getchell, who suffered a 14-4 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Aaliyah Shafer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Marysville Getchell saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hannah Worth, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Marysville Getchell's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-10. As for Glacier Peak, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-5.
