Football Recap: Southwest Takes a Loss

Southwest lost against Coral Park back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Southwest Eagles took a 24-7 bruising from the Coral Park Rams. The Eagles were down 24-0 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Coral Park's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ana Bodie, who rushed for 70 yards and one touchdown, and also threw for 32 yards and two touchdowns. The dominant performance gave Bodie a new career-high in rushing yards. Saleth JoverPerez was another key rusher, gaining 52 total yards and two touchdowns.

Southwest's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Coral Park, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 1-5.

After both having extra time off, Southwest and Carol City will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 3:30 p.m. on April 2nd. As for Coral Park, they will challenge Downtown Doral at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Coral Park is facing Downtown Doral at the right time seeing as Downtown Doral is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
