Preview: Weeping Water Indians vs. Sterling Jets
The Weeping Water Indians will be playing at home against the Sterling Jets at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Weeping Water has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Winning is just a little bit easier when you make six more threes than your opponent, a fact Weeping Water proved on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 45-27 victory over Brownell Talbot.
Riggs Wilson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 24 points along with two steals. His trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Tucker Bickford, who scored six points.
Meanwhile, Sterling's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They were the victim of a rough 55-29 loss at the hands of Lourdes Central Catholic. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Sterling has suffered since December 5, 2023.
Weeping Water's win ended a ten-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-7. As for Sterling, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-12.
Weeping Water didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Sterling when the teams last played back in December of 2021, but they still walked away with a 50-45 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Sterling's Carson Mcauliffe, who scored 26 points. Now that he won't be playing on Thursday, will it be that much easier for Weeping Water to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
