Baseball Game Preview: Rancho Rams vs. Western Warriors

For the second straight game, Rancho will face off against Western. The Rams will face off against the Warriors at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Rancho is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.

On Monday, Rancho got the win against Western by a conclusive 8-1.

Jonathan Ramos made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. Those 14 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Rancho is 5-2 when Ramos posts two or more runs, but 4-10 otherwise.

In other batting news, Ethan Nelson was a standout: he scored three runs while going 2-for-2. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Paulson, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one stolen base.

Western dropped their record down to 6-5 with the loss, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Rancho, their win bumped their record up to 9-12.
