Basketball Recap: Cross Lanes Christian Takes a Loss

Cross Lanes Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They took a 38-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of the HEARTS for Jesus Christ Guardians. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Warriors came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 121st in West Virginia, while the Guardians are ranked 695th in Ohio).

HEARTS for Jesus Christ's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Haven Anthony, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Anthony is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last ten games she's played. Another player making a difference was Carenna Lewis, who posted four points in addition to nine boards and five steals.

Cross Lanes Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 3-13. As for HEARTS for Jesus Christ, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-9.

Cross Lanes Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for HEARTS for Jesus Christ, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 50-41 loss against Varsity Opponent on the 7th.
