Volleyball Recap: Bishop Blanchet Bears vs. Mount Si Wildcats

After flying high against Ballard last Thursday, Bishop Blanchet came back down to earth. The Bishop Blanchet Bears took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mount Si Wildcats on Monday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bears of the 3-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2018.

While Bishop Blanchet had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 17-25, 25-21, 25-21.

Even though they lost, Bishop Blanchet kept the net locked down and finished the game with ten blocks. That's the most blocks they've managed all season.

Mount Si found their leader in underclassman Cailyn Kadera, who had 16 digs. Those 16 digs set a new season-high mark for Kadera.

Bishop Blanchet's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Mount Si, their victory ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-4.

Bishop Blanchet didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 loss vs. West Seattle on the 1st. As for Mount Si, they will play host again on Wednesday to welcome Bellevue, where the match is scheduled at 7:00 p.m.
