Game recap: Forest High School Football Team beats Prentiss

FOREST, Miss. - Forest (Miss.) grabbed the lead when Chris Mazique ran for a touchdown with 6:00 left in the fourth quarter and held on to defeat Prentiss (Miss.) 23-12 on Saturday. The score was the final lead change in a back-and-forth contest that featured three lead swaps.

The Bearcats led 9-6 at halftime, but the Bulldogs recaptured the lead on a Donta Ford touchdown run with 4:00 remaining in the third.

By the end of the third, Forest found itself trailing by three points as Prentiss captured the lead thanks to one score in the quarter. PHS scored on a touchdown run by Ford in the quarter.

Coming into the game FHS had allowed 18.1 points per game this year.

The defeat comes as a step back for Prentiss, who notched a 30-14 victory over McLaurin in its previous outing. The loss ended Prentiss' three-game winning streak.
