Heartland III recap Oct. 23, 2012

Southern Columbia Area extended the longest winning streak in Heartland III this week by beating Shamokin Area, 45-6. The win marks eighth in a row for the the Tigers.

Southern Columbia Area took down the Indians 45-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.

Anthony Barberio and Troy Hembury gave Muncy a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Barberio threw for 115 yards and one touchdown, while Hembury ran for 52 yards. Tj Moyle also contributed to the rushing game with 51 yards on the ground.

Corey KRINER was the best wideout in the league this week as Montgomery lost to Warrior Run. KRINER tallied nine receptions for 91 yards. Colton HARER helped Montgomery's passing attack out by catching 13 balls for 63 yards.

Matthew BOONE provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Red Raiders fell to the Defenders. He completed 22 passes for 154 yards and also ran for seven yards.

Montgomery's BOONE and HARER have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. BOONE has thrown for 970 yards this season, while HARER, a 6-foot-2 receiver, has 55 catches for 528 yards. Hembury from the Indians leads the league in rushing with 916 yards.

Muncy's Hembury is a mere 84 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season.

Jim R Roth's team led Heartland III in scoring this week after putting up 45 points on Shamokin Area.
