Baseball Recap: Corning Takes a Loss

If Corning was riding high fresh off their 9-0 takedown of Oroville on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cardinals fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 4-3 on Thursday. The Cardinals were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Tigers earlier this season, when they won 9-0.

Corning saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brandon Cordova, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Corning dropped their record down to 2-12 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Oroville, their record is now 5-14.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Corning is set to take on their familiar foe Gridley at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Oroville will square off against rival Las Plumas at 4:00 p.m. on the 29th.
