Football Recap: Benbrook Bobcats vs. Eagle Mountain Knights

Benbrook won against Eastern Hills last Thursday with 28 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Benbrook Bobcats snuck past the Eagle Mountain Knights with a 28-24 victory. The Bobcats' win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Benbrook to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brennan Barton, who threw for 240 yards and two touchdowns on perfect 18-for-18 passing, and also rushed for 35 yards. Carlos Harris was in the mix too, providing Benbrook with two touchdowns.

Benbrook's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged two passes before it was all said and done. The picks came courtesy of Kade Cross and Will Cook. With that strong performance, Cook is now averaging an impressive 5.2 total tackles per game.

Benbrook's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-0. As for Eagle Mountain, they now have a losing record at 2-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. After each having a week off, Benbrook and Dunbar will shake off the cobwebs and square off against one another at 7:30 p.m. on October 11th. As for Eagle Mountain, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Brock at 7:00 p.m. on October 11th. Brock's defense has only allowed 8.2 points per game this season, so Eagle Mountain's offense will have their work cut out for them.
